About the conference
Silk, the Queen of Textiles is one of the natural textile fibres that has marveled humanity for ages with its unique beauty and grandeur combined with excellent comfort properties. India is home to all the known commercial varieties of silk viz., Mulberry, Tropical Tasar, Oak Tasar, Muga, Eri and occupies a pride of place in the global silk map. Indian silk sector, has maintained its momentum in growth and sustainability, is poised to be the leading producer of raw silk in the world. Besides the traditional use as a textile material, silk today has a number of Noval applications in the field of cosmetics, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, medical and other technical areas. This conference would deliberate on various such conventional silk product making and silk technical textile topics with the global and sustainability focus. As an added value, the International Conference on Global Scenario and Sustainable Solutions in Silk Industry is being organized as a part of the Bharat Tex 2024.
Objective
The conference aims to provide a common platform to deliberate about the recent development in R&D sector of mulberry and vanya (non-mulberry) silk sectors across the globe. The conference is expected to gather new and innovative ideas for the overall development of the global silk industry in the true spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – One Earth, One Family, One Future, which was the theme when India held the G20 presidency during 2023.
About Bharat Tex Expo – 2024
The Bharat Tex Expo held during 26th-29th February, 2024 at Delhi, India, is the largest and most significant event in the textile sector, bringing together industry experts, manufacturers, sellers, buyers, designers and enthusiasts from around the world. The exhibition shall display the entire textile value chain – Fibers, yarns, garment & apparels, home furnishing, carpets, handloom & textile based handicrafts, technical textiles etc., made of all kinds of natural and synthetic fibers all under one roof. This show aims to showcase to the world, the strength of the Indian Textile Sector, latest advancements, innovations, trends in the textile and fashion world, fostering networking opportunities and promoting business collaboration. The institutions, academia and all other sections connected with the sectors will participate. Exhibitors from India and overseas shall have their stalls. The participants of the conference will also have the unique opportunity to get exposure in the Bharat Tex events.
