Realising the need of the Indian silk industry, CSB-CSTRI has an elaborate testing facility primarily aimed at quality improvement. It provides testing services in the areas of physical, chemical and eco-parameters on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cstri.res.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/TestingCharges-2023.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">charges\u00a0<\/a>basis.<br \/>The textile testing laboratory comprises of\u00a0 Physical Testing\u00a0 Division,\u00a0 Chemical Testing Division. Both divisions of the laboratory has received ISO\/IEC 17025 Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cstri.res.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/NABL-Certificate-2026.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(Click to view)<\/a>. NABL, a Government of India body under the Department of Science and Technology. All the fibre, yarn and fabric tests are carried out in accordance with ASTM, BIS, AATCC, ISA and validated in-house standards.<\/p><p><a href=\"http:\/\/cstri.res.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/TestingChargesCollected.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Testing Charges Collected<\/a><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Physical Testing Division:<\/strong><\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Fibre Testing<\/strong><\/span><br \/>Finness, Moisture content, Fibres bundle strength, single fibre strength, fibre length and fibre identification are the tests being conducted at the division for the fibres.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"flag-singlepic flag-none\" src=\"http:\/\/cstri.res.in\/wp-content\/flagallery\/ttl-photos\/ttl_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"none\" \/><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Yarn Testing<\/strong><\/span><br \/>All parameters of\u00a0 Raw silk, thrown\u00a0 and Dupion silk, Linear density, Moisture content,\u00a0 single thread strength, twist, yarn diameter and identification of type of yarn are the characteristics that are being tested for yarns.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cstri.res.in\/wp-content\/flagallery\/ttl-photos\/ttl_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"none\" \/>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cstri.res.in\/wp-content\/flagallery\/ttl-photos\/ttl_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"none\" \/><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Fabric Testing<\/strong><\/span><br \/>Fabric testing laboratory is equipped with all necessary instruments for testing cloth and garment. All fabric constructional parameters and functional properties are being analysed at the laboratory.<\/p><p>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"flag-singlepic flag-none\" src=\"http:\/\/cstri.res.in\/wp-content\/flagallery\/ttl-photos\/ttl_4.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"none\" \/>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"flag-singlepic flag-none\" src=\"http:\/\/cstri.res.in\/wp-content\/flagallery\/ttl-photos\/ttl_7.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"none\" \/><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Chemical Testing Division:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>The Division carry out testing of composition of textile material, Colour fastness to Light \/ Wash \/ Water\/ Rubbing\/Bleach\/ Laundering\/Perspiration, Degumming loss of silk, Dimensional changes, pH of aqueous extracts, water\/solvent soluble matter, identification of dyes and water analysis.
